梅の宮神社（うめのみやじんじゃ）

創祀年月は不明ですが、 京都府下梅津の梅宮神社から吉津の伊保石に勧請したのが始まりです。 江戸時代の文化5年2月には、 野火の災厄にあい焼失したので、 現在の地に同年5月10日、 御迂宮を行い鹽竈神社の末社にもなりました。 現在の社殿は、 明治3年4月に炎上し、 再建しましたが狭少のため、 昭和3年11月の御大典記念事業として改築しています。 農耕と産業守護、 安産と海上と酒造守護の神として広く知られています。

Umenomiya shrine

DESCRIPTION

The foundation year is unknown but it was originally transferred to Iboishi in Yoshizu from Umenomiya shrine in Kyoto. In February, Bunnka 5 (1808) in the Edo period, a wildfire burned down the shrine. In the same year on May 10th, it became a subordinate shrine of Shiogama shrine. The current main building was burned down in April, and it was reconstructed in Meiji 3 (1870). However, it was too small and narrow, and was rebuilt again as Godaiten Memorial Project (御大典記念事業) in November of Showa 3 (1928). It’s a guardian for agriculture and industry, widely known as the God of the sea and sake brewing.
