白石広造邸宅跡（しらいしこうぞうていたくあと）

白石氏は塩竈開港の恩人で、 明治４年に北海道や三陸の各港との廻漕業を興したのをはじめ数々の事業に着手され、 さらに開盛丸・権現丸・洪栄丸の三帆船を以って遠洋漁業 （ラッコ・オットセイ猟） を興しました。

Shiraishi Kouzou house ruins

DESCRIPTION

Mr. Shiraishi is a benefactor for the opening of Shiogama port. He started doing business with Hokkaido and other ports in Sanriku in Meiji 4 (1871), and then became involved with a lot of other projects. He also launched three ships (Kaiseimaru, Gongenmaru, Kyoeimaru) to partake in pelagic fishery and to hunt fur seals and sea otters.
