Records of the culture and geography of Shiogama village (City-designated tangible cultural property )

DESCRIPTION

This ancient document was written in the middle of the Edo period and is composed of 450 pages. It is 15cm long and 40cm wide and opens sideways. Not only does it contain information regarding natural and cultural topics, but also a depiction of the town and Shiogama shrine is provided in detail. The document is an important tool for understanding ordinary life in Shiogama village, which was controlled by the feudal domain.
