神明社（しんめいしゃ）

建築年代を直接的に証するものがなく、 恐らくは江戸中期今から約250年前の社殿建造で、 千木・勝男木を載せた 「流れ造り」 としては珍しい様式を有しています。 応仁年間、 楠氏の遺臣が寒風沢に来島し、 定住して稲荷神を敬神して 「洲の崎稲荷」 又は 「宇南明神」 と称していましたが、 後年伊勢宮と合祀して神明社と改めたという由緒があります。 （平成９年修築）

DESCRIPTION

There is no evidence with which to prove the year of the founding of the shrine. It was probably built in the mid Edo period (250yeas ago). The construction style is very unique among “Nagare-zukuri”. During the Onin period, a surviving retainer of Mr. Kusunoki moved to the island. He respected the Inari God, and named the shrine as “Suno-saki-inari” or “Unanmei God”. Years later, it was enshrined together with Isemiya and renamed ‘Shinmeisha’. (Repaired in Heisei 9)
