竜頭島（りゅうとうじま）

「千賀の浦－八島」 の名島の一つである竜頭島は、 白い岩肌が美しい小さな島であり、 蛇の頭にも見えることから 「蛇島」 とも呼ばれています。
　周辺の漁港整備での護岸や埋立工事が進み、 取り崩す計画でしたが、 市民からの要望で保存されました。

DESCRIPTION

It is a small island with beautiful white rocks. It’s also called Hebi (snake) island as it looks like the shape of a snake’s head. As the reclamation and embankments around the fishing port developed, the island was due to be destroyed. However, by request of the citizens, it was preserved, and still remains as one of the islands of “Chiganoura – Yashima”
